Dear future HOP Participants,
You probably want to know what the HOP week will look like! After all, the measures taken by the Dutch government against the spread of the coronavirus also have consequences for Leiden University and thus for your introduction period. Together with the university, the municipality, the study and student associations and many other parties, we have done our utmost to develop the best possible programme that should suit everyone’s need: this year we are offering a blended week which can be completely online if you are joining from home, and also a physical variation of HOP if you are able to come to the Hague.
What does the HOP look like this year?
The introduction period of the HOP will take place from Monday 17th to Friday 21st of August. During the programme, you will join a group of 10 to 15 students. Your group will be guided by two mentors. These mentors will support you during both an online programme, as well as on location.
During the HOP you will have access to a digital platform on which all sorts of information can be found about your time as a student in The Hague. It will be possible to join several online events and activities. During these five days you will explore your study, city, and student life.
For students who are able to join HOP physically because they are already residing in or near the Hague, we have some additional programme parts. You and your group will be invited to attend one day in the Hague, where you will discover the beauty of The Hague and all it has to offer! In addition, we are exploring optional sign-up activities on location during the days that you are not attending your organised day.
