Daniel, the last one of the bunch organizing HOPweek 2019. I am the Chairman of the HOP which means I have to make sure that the organization runs smoothly and we do not kill each other. So far the team has made it super easy for me and we are on track to roll out an epic HOP 2019.
I am a 25 years old and from Germany. Being German gives me the eye to make everything more efficient but don’t question me on my humor.
I currently study International Studies. What I really enjoy is cycling as fast as possible through the Hague city; the busier the streets are the better.
The HOP 2019 will be an awesome experience and one that I am excited to share with you guys.
I’m Kimon! I am currently in my second year of Security Studies and I live in Leiden, which means that I daily have to squeeze myself into a can of sardines that we know as the Intercity Leiden – Den Haag. Some people might Relate.
As Commissioner Partners & External Relations of this years HOP board I am responsible for acquiring all the funds that make our awesome HOPweek possible! In attracting as much (new) partners as possible, I hope to make this HOPweek the best one yet & hope to meet all of you there!
Stay tuned! 🦖
Heya! I’m Hanley I’m from Australia and currently in the second year of an MSc in International Relations and Diplomacy. I’m the Treasurer of the HOPweek this year, which means I keep track of all the finances and make sure that all the money coming in actually comes in, and all the money going out gets to the right people. The best part of this job is that I get to pretend to be Robin Hood by taking all the cash Kimon makes and giving most of it to Arend. The worst part of this job is that I’m currently dating an excel spreadsheet. Though as a bonus perk I also get to cut Alice’s budget every time she annoys me (jokes, I would never do that ). I’m super excited about our programme this year (and hope you’re just as excited about it), and really looking forward to introducing you all to The Hague.
Hi guys I’m Alice this year’s volunteers commissioner! That means I’m responsible for recruiting all the mentors, crew and the media team needed to make the HOP run during the week. It’s fitting that I’m introduced this week as mentor sign ups start this week, so if you have any questions about that, let me know.
I am a 2nd year World Politics major at LUC, same as Wijke, and am British which is a dangerous thing to be right now as I am continuously mocked for listening to brexitcast by other board members and for how I say things. I am not only the shortest board member, yes Hanley I finally admit it, but also the youngest at age 19.
It’s an honour to be on this year’s board and it’s been a blast so far tot zienss (and yes that is as good as my Dutch gets).
Hi everyone! My name is Wijke and I’m the commissioner participants on this years HOPweek board. This means that I’m responsible for everything participant-related. You can find me at the open days, I will take care of the registration process, and I will make sure your introduction week will be the most amazing start of your student life in The Hague.
I’m 20 years old and study Liberal Arts and Sciences: Global Challenges at Leiden University College, and I’m majoring in World Politics. Besides organizing this amazing event, I also really enjoy rowing at the student rowing association of The Hague and discovering new places in and around the city. I can’t wait to show you everything The Hague has to offer! In the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact me in case you have any questions! I can’t wait to meet all of you guys!
My name is Arend Zwarts. I’m 21 years old and I’m currently studying Law – Entrepreneurship & Management at Leiden University. My function within the HOP-board is Commissioner Logistics. Logistics, in a nutshell, is about getting bars, applying for permits, arranging toilets, making sure there is enough beer and asking Mr. treasurer for more budget (I’ve never heard that many ‘no’s’ before). Even with the slight inconvenience of students running your beer dry, it is a great challenge and I’m honoured to make HOP ’19 the best week there is. Really looking forward seeing you there!
